Barbara Van de Castle, DNP, RN-NI, is an Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing at the University of Maryland, with a Clinical Informatics Specialty. She has many years in both clinical and faculty roles, with an abundance of experience in the Electronic Health Record and her vision is to bridge the gap between nursing practice and technology. She teaches Informatics to the doctoral nursing students and coordinates two of the DNP Project Courses focusing on Quality Improvement Implementation and Data Stewardship. Dr. Van de Castle has experience in evaluating and implementing many types of software and holds certifications in Informatics and Oncology Nursing.
