Renay Tyler is V.P. Population Health & Value-based Care. Case Management and Medical Practice Operations

Renay Tyler RN, DNP, ACNP, FASPEN joined the University of Maryland Medical System in 2015 as the Vice President for Ambulatory Services and Associate Chief Nursing Officer. In April, 2023, she transitioned to the UM St. Joseph Medical Center as the V.P. of Population Health & Value-based Care, Case Management and Medical Practice Operations. During her tenure at UMMC, Dr. Tyler expanded clinical practice sites across two academic campuses supporting clinical and business programs that optimize financial and operational efficiencies, professional practice, workforce utilization, clinical quality, and regulatory compliance as well as population health outcomes. A key accomplishment was facilitating the long-term outpatient facility master planning process incorporating financial, patient-centered, clinical efficiency and logistical elements into a new outpatient tower as well as a comprehensive outpatient strategy for UMMC across both campuses. With several years of progressive leadership experience in ambulatory care, her general clinical experience includes peri-anesthesia Prep/PACU, surgery, complex discharge planning and case management. Her outpatient practice management has included clinical quality, regulatory, and safety programs in addition to providing direct clinical care as a nurse practitioner. Dr. Tyler’s current role at St. Joseph Medical Center draws on this deep knowledge base to move forward key strategic initiatives that cross inpatient, outpatient and community-based care.
